Alfie Brussels Griffon Young Male in Winston Salem, North Carolina

My story

Alfie is a tiny little guy who must have been quite scared when he was found as a matted, skinny, stray running loose. He weighs in at a whopping 9 pounds, but will hopefully continue to put on a few more pounds going forward.

We are guessing the he may be part Brussels Griffon and part Shih Tzu, so don't let his perma-frown fool you, he is a sweetheart. He loves to cuddle and especially likes being cradled like a baby. He would love to be someone's lap dog, though he does have a good bit of energy and is a trip hazard to everyone he meets! He is still learning manners and will nip at your pants leg or scratch when he wants something, and likes to hear himself bark. While we are working on improving these behaviors, he would be best in a home without small children and would probably irritate apartment neighbors.

House training is going well, and he is doing great with crate training, sleeping through the night in his crate. Though he is an older puppy, when he gets to his new home it would be best to treat him like a young one because he is learning so many new things.

There is a puppy close to his age in his foster home and they love playing together so he would be fine in a home with other dogs but he would also love a home where he gets all the attention!
